Since the Labor Incident Act went effective in 2020, the burden of proof has largely shifted to be the responsibility of the employers. In 2022, the minimum wage in Taiwan was raised. Additionally, the Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and Protection Act, effective May of 2022, will further aggravate the legal liability of employers. As said act goes effective, micro-enterprises with less than 6 employees are also required to apply for public insurance, raising the HR risks and costs of businesses.
